Minister Shahid Will Visit Japan In His Role As President-elect Of The United Nations General Assembly

 
His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, in his position as President-elect of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, at the request of the Government of Japan. The official visit to Japan is from August 26, 2021 to August 28, 2021.  

Minister Shahid will pay a courtesy call on Hon. Suga Yoshihide, Prime Minister of Japan, and will meet Hon. Motegi Toshimitsu, Minister of Foreign affairs of Japan, during his visit.  

The visit will give both the Minister, in his capacity as President-elect, and the Government of Japan the chance to undertake close talks on expanding cooperation under the auspices of the United Nations General Assembly. The visit will also focus on bilateral elements of the Maldives-Japan relationship.
