The Addu Road Development project under EXIM’s credit-line has now moved to the mobilization stage after the completion of the topography survey work. The project contract was signed on February 21, 2021.
It supports the vision of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to transform Addu into a thriving eco hub through infrastructure development.
The project work comprises building and paving of roads with proper drainage systems, shore protection, land reclamation summing up to 228 hectares of land, and installation of CCTV cameras and lighting along all roadways. The most significant work which will be done is building a 1.5 kilo meter, 4 lane bridge to connect Hithadhoo and Maradhoo.
Once completed, the project will open opportunities for businesses to bloom in the fields of resorts, residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
