CEO Adam Azim and And MTCC Team Visits Projects In Laamu Atoll

Adam Azim, CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company is on an official visit to project sites in the atoll of Laamu. Him and an accompanying team has been touring the sites for updates on the progress and meeting with councils of the islands visited.  
 
The CEO and Team from MTCC, met with L.Fonadhoo council and briefed on the progress of their Road Development Project (Phase 1) valued to MVR 25.57 Million. Project works involve construction of 27,848sqm asphalt roads, stormwater management system, speed breakers and road markings on 13,702m.   

 
Furthermore, the CEO and Team from MTCC also met with Maavah council members to discuss future projects of public transportation network of the region along with the councils concerns and solutions regarding the services. The Harbor developed in Maavah in December 2020 by MTCC was also visited. 
 
Visiting L.Mundhoo, CEO and Team from MTCC inspected the work being carried out to rebuild the houses and clear the debris from the lands damaged after the unfortunate Tsunami crisis that happened back in 2004. With 60% of the works completed, MTCC hopes to bring back life to the island of Mundhoo. 

 
The CEO and team met with the council of Isdhoo and Kalaidhoo and visited the new Harbor of Isdhoo Island that was completed on August 17th of this year which valued to MVR 34.7 million. Scope of works for the project included dredging and excavation operations of 17,503.96cbm, the construction of a 253m breakwater and a 83m revetment, installation of navigational lights and construction of a bridge. 
 
The team also visited Maabaidhoo council and inspected the newly completed harbor in the island. The existing harbor channel was closed and a new harbor channel was opened by MTCC on August 18th this year, where dredging operations of 17,503 cbm were undertaken to create a new harbour channel. Valued to a total of MVR 22.4 million, this project also included the construction of a 253m breakwater, a 19m sub merge breakwater, 83m revetment, bridge construction and installation of navigation lights.
