“Basic Necessities Are Every Humans Right.” – President Solih

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih highlights the importance of providing basic necessities to every citizen despite the population rate at any island at the official inauguration of the new harbor at Omadhoo Island of Kolhumadulu Atoll.

Speaking at the ceremony, President also proudly celebrated the completion of the harbor was a promise he made when he visited Omadhoo three years ago. He highly praised the hard-workers behind the project completion. He also promised that the water and sewerage project in Omadhoo Island, as well as the development of a multi-purpose hall for the local school, would proceed the following year.

President Solih also highlighted the on-going or completed projects in the neighboring islands of Kolhumadulu Atoll. President Solih continued his statement by emphasizing that, in addition to strengthening local infrastructure, social problems must also be tackled, particularly the two most prevalent in the Maldives, religious extremism and drug usage. And for this, along with the government he had asked for the help of the island citizens to coordinate the national efforts to addressing them.

In conclusion, President Solih expressed his gratitude to the people of Omadhoo Island for their support and confidence in him. He wished for a happy and prosperous future for all of the people on Omadhoo Island.
