For The First Time, Female Trainees Participate In Coast Guard Basic Diving Course

Inauguration of the ninth coast guard basic diving course has taken place. For the first time in the history of the course, female trainees have taken part in this intense course, including participants from nepal, Bangladesh, Sri lanka and the Maldives, there are 29 participants.

It was held at Bandaara Koshi and the event was graced by Colonel Mohamed Saleem. Effective from August 15, 2021 the course would be held for 3 months in the Girifushi training center

The contents which would be taught are; Date of Diving, Physics and Physiology diving, how to use diving equipments, the use of dive communications and dive tables, diving safety and dive searching patterns, physical training, swimming and diving skills, diving first aid, mission planning and how to rescue stranded sea vehicles. 

The distinguished guest delivered a speech at the event. Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Jamshaadh sworn in the teachers, while Captain Mohamed Shafeeq, the Course officer, sworn in the student trainees.  

MNDF coast guard and other MNDF unit soldiers took part in the course.
