Qatar Airways Says Its Time to ‘Think Pink’ Even When in Air!

According to statistics, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer found in women. About 458,000 deaths occur annually due to the diseases whereas up to 1.38 million new cases are recorded each year. Thus, every October is observed as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month worldwide in order to increase attention, support and awareness on the early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of the disease.

Renowned multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways, may not be able to provide medical assistance to breast cancer patients but that is not a reason for them to deviate from the topic. The airline paid its respects for the cause with the operation of their ‘Think Pink’ flight in addition to rolling out a limited edition breast cancer awareness amenity kits onboard.

To think pink, Boeing 787 Dreamliner of the airline’s fleet undertook a special route to create the symbolic pink ribbon image above the state of Qatar, this Saturday. From ground operations, technical and dispatch teams to the flight deck and cabin crew. Passengers were specially invited female guests who were rendered a pink-themed service from food to beverages and their limited addition amenity kits.

The airline unveiled its limited edition breast cancer awareness earlier this month which is made available on-board for passengers. These luxury amenity kits were designed by the Italian luggage brand BRIC’s and is available in male and female options. The kit is created from vegan leather and the content of the kit would differ based on the passenger’s travel duration and class.
