Zaha Waheed Appointed as Minister at the President’s Office

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ms. Zaha Waheed as a Minister at the President’s Office on Thursday. At a special ceremony that took place at the President's Office, President Solih presented Ms. Waheed with her letter of appointment. 

Ms. Zaha Waheed had previously held numerous significant roles in the administration. She was most recently the Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture, which she held from November 2018 to May 2021. She was also appointed as the Minister of State for Fisheries and Agriculture in November 2013 until August 2015. 

Ms. Zaha has made significant contributions to the Maldives in the fields of fisheries, marine sciences, and disaster management, including developing a National Platform for disaster risk reduction and improving community-based disaster risk management programs.
