Vaccination for School Leavers to Commence

Health emergency operations Centre (HEOC) has declared that students under the age of 17 who have just completed school can obtain their COVID-19 vaccinations from the former schools. The vaccination program would be commenced on August 15, 2021.  

Pfizer, noted to provide the highest efficiency among vaccinations would be provided to children between the age of 12 to 17. Even though vaccinations will begin this week, it will take until next week for all the islands to follow. For now, the program will begin in the Greater Male Region and selected islands. 
 
Graduated students residing in Male' will be notified by their schools when it is time to visit the designated vaccine centers, while students on the islands will receive their vaccines from the health centers or designated vaccination centers on the said islands. 

The president announced that the Maldives has successfully obtained enough vaccine doses to vaccination all children aged 12 to 17. He also stated that the Maldives has now obtained enough vaccine doses to inoculate the whole population. HEOC has asked all eligible students to inform of any medical history to the school desks prior to receiving the jab.
