In the lights of celebrating Youth Day, Foreign Minister and the 76th President-elect of the United Nations General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid announces a major plan targeting youth.
Minister Shahid to take place as the 76th President of UNGA this September, announced his intentions to introduce “PGA Youth Fellowship Program” that will develop future diplomats and civil servants from Least Developed Countries (LCDs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), Small Islands Developing States (SIDS). Maldives being one of SIDS.
The participants of the program will be sent to New York where they will experience and develop skills first hand by the United Nations systems allowing them to grasp their full potentials and creating a path to being strong advocates for multilateralism.
