The NGO Grant Programme was launched by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Communications Empowerment in the hopes of providing financial assistance in the projects carried out by the civil societies or the NGO’s in Maldives.
Launched earlier this year in January 2021, this program is set to empower the organizations working towards in building a sustainable and effective development in our community. In a ceremony held yesterday afternoon, 15 of the NGO’s that applied to the Grant programme were awarded a financial assistance of a total MVR 2.9 million by the Temporary Tourism Minister, Dr. Abdul Mausoom.
The NGO’s receiving the assistance will be Nalafehi Meedhoo, Live & Learn Environmental Education Maldives, Maldives Family Foundation, Huvadhoo Aid, Thinadhoo Association for Youth Development and Empowerment, InStill Maldives, Thakandhoo Ekuveringe Roohu, Naifaru Juvenile, Nadella Island Development Society, Diabetes Society of Maldives, Network of Developing Society, Veshi Saafu, Public Interest Law Centre, Journey and Care 88.
