Three Members Of The Dhivehi Language Academy Appointed By The President

Following the expiration of the terms of three former members on August 8, 2021, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed three new members to the Dhivehi Language Academy. 

 Mr Ashraf Ali, Ms Rafia Abdul Gadir, and Mr Mohamed Shahid Haleem are the three members whose terms ended on August 8, 2021. In their place, Dr. Ashraf Abdul Raheem, Ms. Zulfa Ibrahim, and Mr. Mohamed Shahid Haleem, a former member of the academy, were appointed. 

The following are the current members of the Dhivehi Language Academy, including the new appointments: 

1. Mr. Abdul Rasheed Hussain, a recipient of the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin. 
2. Mr. Iyaz Jaadullah Naseem 
3. Mr. Mohamed Shahid Haleem 
4. Dr. Ashraf Abdul Raheem 
5. Ms. Zulfa Ibrahim 

A President and Vice President were elected by a secret ballot among all Academy members, under the stipulations of the Act. According to the vote, Dr Ashraf Abdul Raheem was voted in as the President and Ms Zulfa Ibrahim took place as Vice President accordingly.
