Qatar Flight Makes Emergency Landing To Velana International Airport

An emergency landing to Velana International Airport was made last night when Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777-200 performing flight, QR677 had to return their way back after one of the cockpit windows shattered mid-air. The flight was flying at 38,000 feet when the scary incident occurred and the crew declared emergency. The flight was on its route from Male’ to Doha. 
 
After a stressful 180 turn, the flight landed at 2155 local time at VIA. The emergency crew at VIA was prepared for the flights arrival once they got the emergency SOS sent from mid-air. Thankfully, non on board were hurt and all crew and passengers are safe. Volunteers from the Red Crescent were also present at the scene supporting the crew and passengers with Psychosocial Support.
