Mazin and Fathun Become the First Paralympians to Represent Maldives in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

Sports on an international platform has leveled up to include persons with disabilities and the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games scheduled to be held in Tokyo from August 24 – September 5 will bring together unsung talents from around the world.  
 
For the first time in the 16 years of the Paralympics, Maldives will be represented this year by runners Mohamed Mazin and Fathimath Ibrahim. Both will be competing in Athletic 100m sprints. Mohamed Saif Zahir and Raba Ismail Asif will be joining the athletes as guide runners respectively. 
 
To make this dream a reality, a number of contributors, namely Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Kysports Academy, Athletic Association of Maldives, and President’s Office. The achievement comes as a token of continued dedication by members of the Maldives Paralympic Committee.
