Vice President Faisal Naseem paid a visit to Kaafu Atoll's Guraidhoo Island today and spoke with members of the Island Council. He was accompanied by the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Service, Aishath Mohamed Didi, the CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Adam Azim, and several high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Health and State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).

During this trip, VP visited the Home for People with Special Needs. He listened to the staffs concerns and praised the staff for working hard on caring for the patients. He further visited the Council Members of the Island and held a meeting discussing the further developments planned to reclaim the 15 hectares of land addressing the scarcity of the island. Furthermore, the shortage of staff in the Special Needs Home was addressed along with the major upgrade work for the Island Health Center.
VP and team also visited Kaafu Guraidhoo Health Center and ended their visit, after inspecting the site of the Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project that MTCC is working on. Valued to MVR 85.9 million, the project includes dredging and reclamation operations of 644,000cbm; construction of a 1200m rock boulder revetment.
