HPA mandated rules for Maldivians and Work Permit holders who arrives to Maldives

As of July 26, 2021, Maldivian residents who depart from other countries and work permit holders coming to the Maldives are subject to the below; 

  • A negative PCR test done prior to 72 hours before departure is needed 
  • People who have tested positive in the Maldives and have now recovered may avoid isolation if it has not been 60 days since they tested positive. Those who have received a vaccine listed by WHO for emergency use and have completed 14 days after vaccination does not have to quarantine upon arrival either. Accompanying children who are not eligible for vaccination can follow the same. 
  • Children who travel along with fully vaccinated people need to do PCR test within 5-7 days of arrival in the Maldives. 
  • People who do not fit to any situation above would need to quarantine for 14 days after arriving in the Maldives. They will be released after a negative PCR test result taken after the quarantine period.  


Maldivians and Work Permit holders who arrive to the Maldives are requested to obtain approval via the “ Haalubelun” application prior to arrival.   

The situation will be constantly monitored in countries around the world and the rules are subject to change depending on the covid spread situation in the country.
