Maldivian Athletes And Officials Depart To Japan For The Tokyo Olympics.

Participating in three categories, athletics, badminton and swimming, Maldivian athletes have departed to Japan today. Joining the athletes as the Contingents Chef De Missioner is the General Secretary of Athletics Associations of Maldives, Ahmed Munthagim. Ahmed Shiham, a well known Badminton Official will also be representing Maldives as a chance given by The International Federation.

One of the athletes representing Maldives to participate in swimming is Mubaal Azzam. Known to have participated in 10 international swimming competitions, broken the track record 15 times, he will be competing in the 100-meter free style race. Second athlete to participate in the 200-meter breast stroke race will be Aishath Sajina. She is known to have won two silver medals and one bronze medals in international competitions in the past. 

Athlete to participate in Badminton is non other than the Badminton Champion herself, Fathimath Nabaahaa. Ranked as 252nd place in the world ranking, Nabaahaa had won two gold medals, four silver medals and 8 bronze medals in the previous international competitions.

Known as the fastest man in the Maldives, Hassan Sajid will be representing Maldives for a second time this year after the 2016 Olympics. Participating in the 100-meter race, Sajid had brought three gold medals, two silver medals and four bronze medals in the past.
