STELCO Praises the Work of Its Team on Greater Male Grid Energizing Project

STELCO announced the energizing phase of the Greater Male Interconnection Grid on 4 selected days of this month. The installation was completed on July 10, marking a milestone in STELCO’s efforts to meet the growing demands for convenient electricity within the region. The 7km double circuits will interconnect electricity circuits in Hulhumale, Hulhule and Male via a 132 kWh grid.

The multimillion-dollar project is overseen by a talented team of young technicians and engineers at STELCO. The company is more than proud to encourage and appreciate their skillful input in carrying out continuous work on the project, having achieved one success after another along the way.

Yesterday, STELCO announced that energizing of the first circuit in the interconnection was completed without any technical interruptions. Today, work is continuing on the next phase, which is the synchronizing of the grid with the engine house in Male. Following this, the second circuit in the grid is scheduled to be energized on Wednesday, July 21. The process will be concluded with the energizing of the substation in Hulhule on the next day.
