Microsoft 365 Hired to Provide a Secure Cloud Productivity and Collaboration Platform for the Public Sector

 The Government of Maldives has signed a 3-year contract with Microsoft 365 to acquire their services in providing a secure cloud communication and collaboration platform for the 20,000 employees in the public sector.  
 
On behalf of the Government of Maldives, the agreement was signed by Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology, Ms. Aminath Shauna. In her remarks at the ceremony, she reiterated on the Government’s efforts to reinvent itself in order to build a public sector that is fit for the future. She reassured that efforts made are in line with bringing a digital transformation around the overhaul of organizational structures, governance, work process, and in building an improved productivity-based mindset and culture. 
 
Minister Shauna stated that the aim of the initiative is to empower the public sector employees to manage their work and achieve targets on a secure and seamless platform accessible from anywhere in the Maldives.  
 
General Manager of Southeast Asia New Markets in Microsoft Asia Pacific, Sook Hoon Cheah signed on behalf of Microsoft 365. She mentioned that the grounded commitment from Microsoft to the Government of Maldives will be continued efforts towards enabling the nation on its mission to achieve more with ease. Microsoft looks forward to being a part of the digital transformation that will improve citizen experience in the public sector.
