Maldives Included Among Recipients of Covid19 Vaccines Donated by the Government of Japan

The Foreign Minister of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid has sent heartfelt appreciation for the Government of Japan’s decision to include Maldives among the 10 recipients of Covid19 vaccines through their donations to the COVAX vaccine program.  
 
Japan had announced a commitment of USD 800 million towards the facility, summing up to 11 million dozes. This is an addition to the USD 200 million the country has already disbursed towards curbing the ill-effects of the virus around the world.  
 
In his message to the Foreign Minister of Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister Shahid said that the gesture is a testament to the close relationships between the two countries.
