A special virtual ceremony took place on Tuesday with participation from Dhiraagu together with Ministry of Health and Addu Equatorial Hospital. In the ceremony, Dhiraagu made a contribution of 60 Galaxy Tabs to the Ministry and the Hospital as part of their efforts to further enhance digitization of pandemic management in the health sector of the Maldives.
Samsung also took part in the ceremony, represented by Managing Director Samsung Sri Lanka, Mr. Kevin SungSu YOU. He was joined by Minister of Health, Mr. Ahmed Naseem, CEO & MD of Dhiraagu, Mr. Ismail Rasheed.
The gadgets will be utilized for the relief efforts by the Ministry for vaccination programme in regional hospitals. Dhiraagu has generously dedicated its resources to support the community, responded to the government and authorities in their emergency response efforts in quarantine facilities, flu clinics, vaccination centres and NGOs to support outreach programmes amid the pandemic.
Speaking at the ceremony, Health Minister expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Maldivian Government to Dhiraagu and Samsung for the support, generosity and personal commitment to making a difference in these unprecedented and challenging times. In return, Mr. Ismail Rasheed confided in the Ministry’s tremendous efforts, accompanied by health authorities and front-line workers, to keep us safe at the height of this health crisis.
Mr. Kevin SungSu YOU also remarked at the ceremony and said, ““We are humbled to collaborate with Dhiraagu and have had the opportunity to support the government of Maldives who is working tirelessly to uplift the nation during this difficult time. We hope these devices will bring a positive impact for the pandemic management efforts by the authorities”.
