A hut has been built in Hulhumale’ and made available to the public to use the “Foiy Gaadiya”. This was built by the generous help of the BML community fund.
The main focus of this project was to solve problems arising from the damage caused by the rain to the books and develop and refurbish the area enabling the use of this space for many citizens. It is built like a traditional Maldivian hut that provides a safe space for the books of the “Foiy Gaadiya”. In addition to this, the hut is also built in a way that extra activities can be conducted within the space.
With the new upgrades to space, it can now host a wide range of activities such as a gathering place for big and small, book clubs, art and crafts corners, educational projects and a place where students can visit during school hours.
Under the community fund, this proposal was succeeded by the children of Maldives. With regard to the topic, the founders of “Foiy gaadiyaa” have stated that that the biggest aim for the foiy gaadiya is to enhance the habit of reading amongst the community and have the easy availability and accessibility of books with making space and area that can be used not only by children but adults as well. In addition to providing a solution for the problems that are occurring in the area right now, making the area available for use to host different activities.

The proposals that are submitted the banks consist of those that aim to do free work, educational and sports activities and also projects to save the environment.
