Maldives participates in a seminar conducted by UNESCO.

Minister of State for Environment, Climate change and Technology, Dr Abdullah Naseer represented Maldives and participated in a high-level political forum on sustainable development by UN. A discussion was held on Coping with environmental challenges; Climate and Biodiversity action in UNESCO designation sites.The seminar was attended by SIDS and G20 countries. Scientists from IPCC and IPBES will also took part in this.   

 UNESCO organized this event by including scientists and other political senior members to discuss about preserving the generations of Living organisms, Weather Changes and Places that should be Preserved Environmentally. They also highlighted the importance of the things which should be done economically and as a community together. Participants conferred on the ways that the steps taken can be enhanced and the crucial role that has to be played by the community by involving and increasing their participation in such matters. 

In the meeting, Dr. Naseer interpreted the steps which are taken to achieve the set goals, places that are preserved and the how he aims to become a “Net Zero” country before the year 2030.
