From the convenience of your own home, and to practice safer social distancing, with the world now going more digital than ever, you can easily renew your passports via the online portal “Imuga”. Listed below are some of the things to look out for while submitting your request.
- A clear scan copy of the completed form must be submitted. Digital signatures are also accepted. The sign has to be of the owner of the passport being renewed.
- When uploading the passport size photo, please make sure it is no more than a month old. Upload should be of the digital photo itself and not a scan.
- Clear and valid copy of NID both sides.
- Clear colored copy of Bio Data page & Observation Page of old passport.
- If there is more than a year left for expiration in the old passport, the owner must submit a letter explaining as to why it is being renewed.
- If the passport is being renewed due to a medical case, a letter from the doctor is mandatory.
- While uploading the form, you can make a choice to pay the stamp fee along with the passport fee. Or else, if a MVR10.00 stamp is included in the form, it will also be accepted.
Practice social distancing and get more and more services online. Stay safe everyone!
