With new Guidelines from the President, Government Institutions are to re-open from Sunday, July 4, 2021.

As published on Thursday, the government offices are to be opened this Sunday, July 4th, 2021. The government offices are opening after being temporarily closed as a protective measure taken due to Covid-19.  
 
In order to help the country, overcome this pandemic, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih urges the Government Institutions to abide by the health and safety guidelines outlined by the Health Protection Agency (HPA). The staff are encouraged to complete their work in the limited working hours and to avoid staying back during the after-hours. To reduce the physical interactions, the government institutions are to identify which of the services can be provided online. The offices to carry out good hygiene practices, as well as ensured social distancing during working hours. 
 
In the light of the economic situation the pandemic has caused, the guidelines also address the necessary expense-reductions the offices need to make. All possible cost-cutting measures are to be taken in order to reduce the strain on the national budget.
