The Community Fund Project as part of the Aharenge Bank Community Fund by Bank of Maldives is an initiative that encourages and empowers local communities to bring about development in the areas of education, environment, sports and community development. Every year in each quarter, BML selects 5 winning proposals for a donation of MVR 500,000 to be completed.
The winners of the second quarter of 2021 have been announced and they are:
Revamp School Library at H.Dh. Hanimaadhoo, submitted by Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya
Community Picnic Area at Sh. Lhaimagu, submitted by Lhaimagu Ekuveringe Rooh
Community Beach Park and Solar Street Lights at L. Gan, submitted by Ibrahim Niyaz
Community Outdoor Library at G.Dh. Fiyoaree, submitted by Fiyoaree Association for Communirty Empowerment
Community Part at Maradhoo in Addu City, submitted by Ibrahim Athif
Congratulations to the winners!
Speaking on the initiative, BML’s Manager of Public Relations, Mohamed Saeed commented, “We received a number of great proposals for the Aharenge Bank Community Fund once again. With the 5 new projects awarded today, we have now supported initiatives in 50 islands that benefit the entire community.”
He further said, “Our appreciation to the individuals and NGOs for their ideas, initiating these projects and working tirelessly to deliver them even with the challenges due to Covid-19 pandemic. ”
‘Aharenge Bank Community Fund’ is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to contribute to society by conducting sustainable community projects.
