Island Aviation Commences Work on 4-Star Transit Hotel at Maafaru Airport

Maafaru International Airport is one of the key gateways to affluent travelers arriving in the Maldives with the convenience of private jets and other chartered arrangements. Building on this aspect, island Aviation who manages the airport has announced for interested parties to submit consultancy proposals for a 4-star transit hotel facility at the airport.

Island Aviation reports that the airport managing heavy traffic of private jets requires a convenient and easily accessible transit facility for crew members and pilots. The establishment will also be a means of accommodation for passengers in case of flight delays or resheduling.

The hotel is expected to be a 47-room facility. Construction work of the hotel is expected to begin within 3-months.

Island Aviation has plans of revamping the Maafaru International Airport in the upcoming months, including plans of expanding the terminal area and extending the runway to facilitate bigger aircraft landings.
