Measures Ease Following Drop in Cases in the Greater Male Region

Compared to the increase in positive cases being reported by the Maldives in the month of May which exceeded 1000 per day, it has dropped down to the lower hundred in the past two weeks. This effort was mutually put in by the authorities having imposed stringent restrictive measures and the public remaining in a lockfew for over a month now.

Last night, in a press conference held to review the situation, ease on the current measures in place, which are effective from today onwards have been announced. They are as follows:

It was also announced that discussion on providing easement for more measures are underway and will be announced in the coming weeks accordingly. This includes lifting the suspension on eases provided to those who have completed the vaccination in hopes of motivating the eligible public to get their pending jabs administered.
