Two Major Marketing Campaigns Launched by MMPRC for Middle Eastern Tourist Market

When travel restrictions to Maldives was lifted and whereas we have regained our status as a safe haven for travelers, post recovery from the spike of COVID-19 cases; an utmost importance was given by all stakeholders to reinstate the country’s prestigious tourism industry to its original state. In this regard, government mandated body marketing Maldives as a tourist destination worldwide; Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has since launched several campaigns targeted towards specific countries or regions to raise our destination presence in the market yet again. Targeted campaigns have already been launched for India, Russia, South Korea etc.

MMPRC has announced the launch of two additional major campaigns for the middle eastern tourist market in collaboration with Dnata Travel and Emirates Women.

Dnata Travel will be promoting Maldives via their website by a fixed page allocated for the destination along with EDMs, promotional videos, paid social media advertisements, promotional flyers (digital and print), retail POS advertising, training programs and PR initiatives for a duration of two months. Dnata Travel is the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) biggest travel services company with more than 60 years of experience.

The next campaign launched jointly with Emirates Woman will be a two-week advertising campaign carried out by focused written articles highlighting travel aspects in Maldives appealing to UAE residents which will be accompanied with pictures and external links for further information. These articles would be publicized on their newsletter and social media platforms. Emirates Women is a leading women’s fashion and lifestyle brand based on the region with 40 years of forefront publishing.

Both the campaigns are launched under the theme “Rediscover Maldives – the Sunny Side of Life” specifically with the aim of reassuring interested parties their health in light of safety measures currently implemented for tourists across the country. Post border re-opening, the second leading tourist arrivals to Maldives ware recorded from the middle eastern region.
