BML Staff Donates Blood on the Occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2021

Today is World Blood Donor Day. This initiative by the World Health organization throws light on meeting the various demands of blood for a range of purposes safely by those involved.

Celebrating the occasion, staff of BML Male, Kulhudhuffushi city, and Manadhoo island, along with volunteering family members have commenced blood donation camps. The camp held in Male was carried out in collaboration with Maldives Blood Services while camps on the islands were monitored at the Atoll Regional Hospitals. More than 70 staff members had registered to donate blood at the camp.

Bml and Maldives Blood Services also conducted awareness sessions for BML staff, educating them on the importance of blood donation whenever eligible and related information was passed on. BML further committed to conduct blood donation camps every 3 months as a pledge to be a safe blood donator to Thalassemia patients in the Maldives.
