Why Anoo Recommends Clique College for Advancement in the Field of Information Technology

The advancement of technology over the past few years have broadened the aspects of its implications from basic software on computers to projects as ambitious as smart cities. Even as you are using the internet on your personal smart devices to read this article, Information Technology is playing a substantial role in maintaining the cyber security, ensuring the information is correctly displayed, and so on.

Hailing from a family of Civil Engineers, Aishath Anoosha grew up surrounded by dismantled gadgets and a curiosity about how things work. She dreams of becoming an Engineer herself and in order to achieve her dreams, Information Technology was one option for further studies.

Clique College was an easy choice. From her thorough comparison of the IT courses available locally from various other institutes, she found Clique’s course syllabus to be the most diverse. It had more relevant content for the field included in theory and practice, therefore Anoo signed up for Bachelor of Information Technology last year in January.

In the few months of physical classes before the onset of the pandemic, Anoo enjoyed college life. She was the most satisfied with the well=stocked library at Clique where students are allowed to borrow books and spend time for revisions during college open hours. Upon request, available groups of students can utilize available classrooms as well, and lecturers were always approachable with even just a text.

IT being an extensive subject, Anoo also commends efforts by lecturers to make the classes interactive. They opt for open discussions, workshops, practical classes and such different approaches to getting the lessons across, which hypes students to actively engage in the learning process. Anoo too looks forward to figuring out the syllabus topic by topic and actually understanding what she is learning.

Since the pandemic has switched everything online, classes are now carried out according to the new routine. Even though both teachers and students are still learning how to cope with the lack of physical interactions and having to adjust to the situation, Anoo appreciates how lecturers explain and educate through the challenges.

Anoo has vibrant interests. She is currently exploring the possibilities of robotics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. In the Maldives, the fields are fairly new but it doesn’t diminish the possibilities of implications of the knowledge Anoo is gaining from the course. For example, the groundbreaking plans of making Hulhumale into a smart city opens further opportunities for those interested in IT to venture ahead into micro segments such as e-agriculture or smart farming, medicine, traffic management, marine biology, and more.

Clique has helped Anoo expose her mindset into the broader applications of IT in areas like “internet of things (IoT)”, thus teaches an individual to think how technology could be implemented in different areas of life. She has not yet decided which area to specialize in but she believes that along her journey of learning, by being inspired to tackle simple problems and getting better solutions, she is encouraged to do her own research.

Anoo works in a full-time job but the flexible class hours allow her to learn at a time that is convenient without disruption of work and personal commitments. Clique College has successfully created an impression of a second home where staff and colleagues alike are friends, and the clubs and activities, which of course have halted in the current situation, made Anoo feel comfortable with settling in. For her, this was one of the most important things in deciding to choose Clique College for her higher studies – it made college life so much more interesting.

For all the enthusiastic tech lovers out there, Anoo will happily recommend choosing Clique College for their further studies. In addition to being a tech lover herself, her studies have helped with her exploring further into her passions for the underwater world and videography. Check out her work on her vlog!
