You Could be the Next Leader of One of the Biggest Renovation Projects in the History of Maldives!

The first impression to almost all the tourists who visit the Maldives is of the main gateway to the destination, Velana International Airport (VIA). Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) operates this main economic contributor to the Maldivian GDP, and henceforth is the single biggest stakeholder in the tourism industry.

Like they say, first impressions last and therefore, MACL has taken up the initiative to invest over USD 1 Billion in airport infrastructure projects. These projects will be aimed at creating a memorable experience to all tourists landing at VIA, and exceed the reputation Maldives holds strongly as one of the most affluent destinations in the world.

The complete rebuild and expansion of VIA project has already kicked off. This will be one of the biggest projects in the history of Maldives upon completion. Subdivided into a significant number of major projects, this Mega Project includes:

  • A new modern n VIP Terminal Building - which will give a new meaning to luxury travel experience
  • A new runway- able to accommodate A380 Aircraft
  • A world class Seaplane Terminal - the biggest in the world
  • New Fuel Farm - three times the capacity of the present fuel facility
  • A New Cargo Terminal
  • A new Fire Station
  • A New Passenger Terminal Building which will accommodate up to 7.5 million passengers per year

In addition to providing operational efficiency, the capacity of the renovated Velana International Airport would significantly increase by greater levels. MACL is inviting potential new talents to join these projects and become part of its professional Projects Team. Open to locals, the vacancies include:

  • One Senior Development Manager
  • Five Development Mangers
  • Two Project Managers
  • Two Project Officers

This opportunity of a lifetime stands to involve and educate locals on the ongoing Airport Development Projects at VIA by joining an existing pool of local talents who have already developed their professional competence in project management and engineering services.

As well as joining forces with the bright local minds, these new staff will be guided by experienced airport experts who will further enrich and accelerate their capacity to progress. MACL is focused on creating a professional high-performance culture with new modern management views and practices. These recruits are part of MACL’s plan to prepare the next generation of managers and senior professionals, vital to both the airport’s progress and to the Maldives economic growth.
