Ministry of Environment Invites You to Take Part in the Energy Investor Conference 2021

Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology is organizing a virtual conference aimed to advocate the investment opportunities in the Maldives as part of its efforts in reaching Net Zero by the year 2030. Titled “Energy Investor Confe rence 2021”, the conference will be held in association with World Bank and International Solar Alliance, on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 4 p.m. Maldives time.  
 
Minister Shauna will be delivering the opening statement at the conference which will detail the Maldivian Government’s vision for sustainable energy development in the country. Joining her in the lineup of the panel includes President of the International Solar Alliance and Minister of New and Renewable Energy, India, Mr. Raj Kumar Singh.  

 
The Government is actively working on implementing the strategic action plan describing the timeline of events that will eventually lead to Maldives becoming a Net Zero nation by 2030. With the conference, more opportunities will be opened for international investors interested in the sustainable energy projects and its potential in the Maldives, who will receive ample information at the conference. Additionally, it will also broaden the chances of Maldives securing the best investments through the ongoing projetcs – ASPIRE and ARISE – conducted by the government in collaboration with the World Bank.  
 
During the conference, a special panel consisting of international energy advocates and ministers will be discussing on the topic of the relation between sustainable development and the energy infrastructure of small nations. The due date of registering for the event in June 21, 2021.
