Nabaaha and Badminton are synonymous. Her recognition in the sport has placed badminton in the Maldives on the international map, and along with her twin sister, the duo has demonstrated the potential of Maldivian women to excel in sports on global platforms.

The Maldives Olympic Committee has announced the awarding of a spot to compete in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to Fathimath Nabaaha. Her invitation came on the basis of a Tripartite Commission as an MOC Tokyo 20202 Scholarship athlete. The opportunity was greatly influenced by Nabaaha’s global ranking and joint efforts by MOC with international federations.

Nabaaha’s determination and unwavering commitment to bettering herself at the sport is unmistakable. She has been inspirational to sportsmen across the archipelago and with the opportunity to represent Badminton in the Maldives at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, her journey crosses yet another milestone.
