15 Youth Development Programme Cricket Coach Positions Created Across the Country

The Cricket Board of Maldives strengthens its working relationships with the cricket coaching staff. In an official announcement on Sunday, the association announced the creation of 15 Youth Development Programme Cricket Coach positions across the country.

15 coaches will serve in the Greater Male’ Area, Fuvahmulah City and L.Kunahuvadhoo will benefit from 5 and 2 coaches respectively. All appointed coaches are qualified coaches who are reputed for delivering success in Cricket Board of Maldives development programmes. Each coach will be designated at least one women’s team team to train, as part of CBM’s continued effort towards women’s development on and off the field.

The newly formed structure of the agreements is based on Time and Training, which allows coaches to earn more by implementing more time for coaching sessions with teams. The board believes that vital for both coaches and the management team to stay positive and commit towards rewarding coaches for the continued strive for the development of cricket in the Maldives.

“In this difficult time, to keep cricket going, there are many committed cricket coaches. Therefore, the CBM management decided to create these agreements” said President of CBM, Mohamed Faisal.

When the global pandemic situation eases in the country, CBM has planned to implement a freshly designed Youth Development Programme aimed at recruiting new players, boys and girls from across the nation.
