M.U.M. Strengthening Legislative Aspect by Partnering with Munawwar, Nazahath & Co. Law Firm

As of May 26, 2021, Musicians Union of Maldives has partnered with Munawwar, Nazahath & Co. LLP in a signed Service Engagement Agreement that states that for one year’s term, the law firm will provide legal assistance to the members of the union.  

This step is a strategic step taken by the union towards ensuring secure and safeguarded welfare of its members in various aspects. As per the partnership, Munawwar, Nazahath & Co will offer its legal consultation services regarding administrative procedures of the Union such as drafting legislative bills and regulations and whitepapers litigation and advisory services for harassment cases, and attending meetings with the Executive Members.  

In the upcoming year, the union will be working with the law firm to establish a Union endorsed standard set of agreements for members regarding contracting, rights, introduction of Royalties and so on. The collective collaboration will be aimed at refining the rights of the artists.
