BML Open for Card Collection Services, Also Announces Major Upgrade to its Card System

Until June 10, 2021, Bank of Maldives is closing its branches and services for physical service provision and urges customers to use its online services. However, the Customer Service Center will be open from May 30 to June 10, on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for card collection services.

While continuing to provide the services, BML requests customers to follow all health and safety measures during their visit to the service center. To ensure both customer and staff safety, a limited number of tokens will be issued to customers via the QueueBee application. Only customers with tokens and valid police permits will be allowed.

When visiting the service center, customers are required to:

  • Wear a mask
  • Observe strict social distancing, using the distancing markers placed on the floor
  • Bring own pen
  • Use hand sanitizers placed at the centre

Additionally, elderly customers and people with disabilities can contact the Bank to arrange delivery of cards. This is a further precautionary measure taken to minimize the risk of exposure to Covid19.

Furthermore, in efforts of improving the services provided by the bank and upscaling the card services to match international banking sector demands, BML will be upgrading their card system overnight from Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following day. During this time, ATM, POS, MPOS, Merchant portal, Payment Gateway, Mobile Pay, and national and international card services on BML cards will be unavailable. However, internet banking and mobile banking services will be usable during the period. Upon completion of the upgrade, the above-mentioned services will be available as usual.
