Mayor Muizzu Relaunched the Disinfecting of Roads Initiative

Yesterday, the newly elected Mayor of Male’ City relaunched the initiative of washing and disinfecting the roads in Male’ city. Speaking to the media, he said that the relaunch was requested for by the Ministry of Health and is an important addition to the ongoing efforts of curbing the virus spread in the region. Last year during lockdown, the previous city council initiated the project.  

The project took off from the Fish Market area in Male’ and will continue on to all roads in the city. This includes washing and disinfecting roads in Villimale’ and Hulhumale’ as part of the project as well. Priority will be given to roads in areas where mass gatherings happen, according to the mayor.  

The newly elected Male’ City Council has a number of proposed initiatives for the betterment of life in the city planned in the timeline.
