Banking Services to Continue on Three Selected Days This Week

As restrictive measures imposed in efforts to curb the recent virus surge extend into another week, Maldives Monetary Authority announces that banking services will continue to be given on selected days this week too. From May 23 to 27, 2021, MMA and commercial banks are to provide services to the public on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  

MMA timings are limited to starting from 8.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on an appointment basis. During this time, letter submissions and enquiries will be accepted and answered to. 

Bank of Maldives has announced that their branches and service centers will operate on the selected days from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Essential services, including International Transfers, BML Cheque Processing, and Payroll Processing will be carried out throughout the week as follows: 

International Transfers: Requests received by 11 a.m. will be processed on the same day.  
Payroll Processing: Payroll requests to BML accounts received by 12 p.m. will be processed on the same day. Payroll deposits to other bank accounts will be processed if received before 11 a.m. 
ATM Cheque Processing: All clearing cheques deposited to ATM by 9.30 a.m. will be processed the same day. Same goes with BML Cheques deposited before 12 p.m. on that day. 
Local Bank Transfers: ACH & MRTGS requests received by 11 a.m. will be processed on the same day. 
Kindly note that all requests received after the cut-off times will be processed on the next working day. 

BML offers customers the convenience of requesting for tokens for the Bank’s services in Male’ City through the QueueBee app. The bank urges to utilize the service and mindfully check waiting position online before visiting the branches and services, as a measure to limit physical contacting. Online token service is available from 8.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on banking days.
