Sri Lanka to Close Borders for Inbound Travel, Informs Authorities

In light of the worsening Covid19 situations in Sri Lanka and across the globe, the destination has announced a temporary ban of arriving travelers from around the world to the country for a period of 10 days, starting May 21, 2021.

This is a follow-up precaution, a stricter one compared to the most recent updates that included mandatory PCR testing and quarantine in government-allocated facilities. Starting May 21 until the end of May 31, all inbound travel is temporarily halted. However, those that wish to leave the country can still make travel arrangements according to the authorities.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs cautions travelers from the Maldives who wish to travel to Sri Lanka and elsewhere to keeo up to date with the latest travel guidelines imposed by the destination prior to making any travel arrangements.
