Local Government Authority Membership Opens Vacancy

The Local Government Authority is the state institution responsible for the regulation, overseeing and development of the local governance system of Maldives as envisioned in the Constitution. Under this requirement, LGA coordinates and ensures that Local Councils and Women Development Committees regulate work and activities according to the set laws. 

With a mission to empower citizens in a political level by promoting inclusive governance, LGA is also responsible for benchmarking Local Council activities to a streamlined and decentralized development.  

In an announcement made by the President’s Office yesterday, applications have been opened for membership vacancies at LGA. Interested candidates must fill and submit an information form, a police report, and a signed consent letter. Applications will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on May 23 and 24, 2021.
