Maldives Gas Private Limited Celebrates 21st Anniversary

Maldives Gas Private Limited was incorporated on 3rd October 1999 as a joint venture between State Trading Organization Plc (STO) and Champa Gas and Oil Private Limited for the provision of condensed petroleum gas and facilitating its wide accessibility across the country. The Company presently offers a wide range of products including; Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), medical oxygen, medical nitrous oxide, acetylene, argon, industrial oxygen and stoves and related accessories.

On the occasion of their 21st year in service, the Company made a generous donation of MVR 50,000 to Maldivian Red Crescent recognizing their work on the frontline amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A symbolic cheque evidencing the financial aid was handed over to Maldivian Red Crescent by Acting Managing Director of the Company, Mr. Ali Ikram in an informal ceremony.

Trained volunteers from Maldivian Red Crescent engaged in providing psycho-social support for individuals mentally disturbed by the impact of COVID-19; including those who were quarantined or in self-isolation and also collaborated with government agencies and other stakeholders in providing more man-power as an extension to their staffs. Most importantly, Maldivian Red Crescent played a vital role in relief efforts targeted towards migrants in securing food, hygiene kits and accommodation to a number of migrants from the funds raised by the NGO for the cause.

Volunteers from Maldives Red Crescent are still actively engaged in frontline activities carried out regarding COVID-19 pandemic. We applaud Maldives Gas Private Limited for choosing to give back to the community on an occasion of significance for themselves.
