Guidelines Revised on Issuing Permits to Businesses During Curfew Hours till May 19

In an official statement by the Ministry of Economic Development, stricter guidelines have been enforced on issuing permits to delivery staff and support staff of businesses. The restrictions will be monitored until May 19, 2021. 

They are to be observed as follows: 

1. For good delivery: 2 delivery staff and 2 support staff permits 
2. Café, restaurants and other food outlets: 2 delivery staff and 4 support staff permits 
3. Delivery services to inhabited islands and resorts: 2 permits 

Businesses can attain permits via Maldives Police Service Portal.  

Furthermore, businesses registered at the Ministry of Economic Development are eligible for 1 permit each. They can request via email to permit@trade.gov.mv by providing Business registration Number, Name of person requesting permit, Designation, Mobile Number and Duration of permit requested.  

Should businesses require more permits than stated, the Ministry requests them to submit details of employees and a contact person via an email to permit@trade.gov.mv upon request, the ministry will evaluate the need for extra permits before deciding on the request.
