On the ground in about 170 countries and territories, UNDP works to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet. We help countries develop strong policies, skills, partnerships and institutions so they can sustain their progress.

UNDP has been in the Maldives for more than 40 years. Over the decades, we have worked on poverty eradication, democratic governance and environment protection, including climate change mitigation and adaptation.

In all our work, we focus on ‘leaving no one behind’: We make concerted efforts to meet the needs of the most disadvantaged, marginalized and vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth. We remain committed to continue our work in the Maldives, for the people and the environment.
